Single Tickets on Sale Now for 2011-2012 Season

Last season was a big one for the Oregon Symphony with their Carnegie Hall debut, but the upcoming season is absolutely Brilliant! From the orchestra to the guest artists to the music, the 2011-2012 Oregon Symphony in Salem season is an experience you won’t want to miss. Single tickets go on sale Thursday, September 1 and are available at the Travel Salem Travel CafĂ© or online at absolutelytix.com

All concerts take place in Smith Auditorium on the campus of Willamette University and most begin at 8pm. New this season is a holiday matinee performance on Sunday, November 27 at 3pm featuring the von Trapp Family Singers performing A von Trapp Family Christmas with the orchestra under the direction of Resident Conductor Gregory Vajda.

The classical series begins on Friday, November 18 at 8pm when the orchestra, under the direction of Music Director Carlos Kalmar will be joined by German cellist Alban Gerhardt.

Pinchas Zukerman will return to the Salem stage on Tuesday, December 6 at 8pm as both guest conductor and guest violinist.

On Friday, April 13 at 8pm classical guitar sensation Sharon Isbin will make her first Salem appearance with the orchestra.

Salem favorite Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg will join the orchestra under the direction of Mei-Ann Chen on Tuesday, May 1 at 8pm and the classical series will conclude on Tuesday, May 15 at 8pm with a performance by renowned pianist Arnaldo Cohen.

In addition to the classical series, the orchestra will performing three special concerts including the von Trapp Family Christmas, violin superstar Joshua Bell on Friday, January 13 at 8pm and sultry vocalist Storm Large on Friday, April 20 at 8pm.
